Body Protector Safety Standards

As of January 1st 2024, the use of BETA 2009 safety certification are no longer approved in British Eventing, British Riding Club, and Pony Club competitions. Riders participating in events under these organisations will now be required to adhere to the BETA 2018 standard.

(Above) Imagery of the old 2009 safety marks cross out, with the new 2018 beneath.

If your body protector bears the BETA 2009 mark, it's time to consider a new one to comply with this years rule changes.

However, there's no need to worry! Fortunately, manufacturers have foreseen this shift in safety standards, resulting in new & improved body protectors to the market.
