Warm weather can be challenging for horses, especially after exercise, travelling, or long days at competitions. Helping your horse cool down safely and comfortably is an important part of their care routine — and the Equilibrium Quick Chill Rug offers a practical, effective solution when temperatures rise.
Designed with water-activated conduction technology, the Quick Chill Rug helps draw heat away from your horse’s body to provide gentle, long-lasting cooling relief without the need to completely soak your horse.

A Practical Cooling Solution for Everyday Use
The Quick Chill Rug is ideal for:
- Cooling horses after exercise
- Keeping horses comfortable in the stable on hot days
- Warm competition days between or after classes
- Horses who get hot during travelling
- Horses who dislike hoses or running water
- Situations where access to water is limited
Whether you’re at home, at a show, or travelling, the rug offers an easy way to help regulate your horse’s temperature while keeping them comfortable.

Easy to Activate
Using the Quick Chill Rug couldn’t be simpler.
To activate:
- Fully submerge the rug in water
- Wring out the excess
- Place it on your horse
If you’re heading out for the day, the rug can be activated in advance and stored in a sealed plastic bag until needed. It will stay activated throughout the day, making it especially useful for competitions, clinics, or travelling.
Alternatively, water can simply be sprinkled onto the rug using a hose or water bottle before use.
Effective Cooling Performance
The Quick Chill Rug provides an instant cooling effect and has been shown in testing to cool surface skin temperature by up to 5.9°C under warm stable conditions.
After exercise, horses remained noticeably cooler even 10 minutes after use, while stable testing showed horses stayed cooler than their starting temperature throughout a 2-hour period on a 29°C day.
The cooling effect can vary depending on factors such as:
- Humidity and weather conditions
- Coat thickness
- Exercise intensity
- Individual horse differences
As always, horses should be monitored regularly while wearing cooling products, particularly during humid weather where evaporation may be reduced.
