The Rhino® Wug Turnout 450g Vari-Layer offers top quality and design at an affordable price, without compromise. The rug's Vari-Layer® technology will keep your horse warm with less weight and bulk, and its innovative design details will impress you.
The Rhino® Wug with Vari-Layer® turnout rug comes with a three-year guarantee on waterproof and breathable performance for peace of mind because we like to acknowledge our confidence in our product's ability to deliver unrivalled satisfaction. The outer rug shell is cut from 1000D polypropylene, which is considerably tougher than the standard polyester normally used in turnout rugs. This tough outer sits above our unique waterproof and breathable layer and sandwiched between this protective shield and a shine-enhancing lining is 450g of premium Thermobonded fibrefill for the ultimate warmth and heat retention.
The original high-cut neck design with V-Front Closure eliminates wither pressure and, coupled with the front leg arches, gives your horse freedom to roam and graze without restriction. Safety is upheld with reflective strips offering greater visibility, a no-slip design, a tail-strap and three cross surcingles provide a secure fit.
Superior by design, this rug comes in a range of beautiful colours with lasting performance you’ll enjoy for many years to come.

The right size rug keeps your horse comfortable and stops rubbing and slipping. Horseware makes many styles to suit all shapes and sizes, so check each rug's details too.
How to measure
Horses of the same height at the wither come in many shapes and sizes, so take your horse's measurements:
- Using a soft measuring tape, measure from (A), the centre of the chest, across the point of the shoulder to (B), the centre of the tail.
- Take 10cm (4 inches) off that measurement and find your horse's size in the table below.
Every horse is different, so the tables are a guide only.

Which rug style suits my horse?
- Straight front: for an average build, a classic neck cut, or a V-Front for extra comfort.
- V-Front: for a deep-shouldered, narrow horse, a Surefit design with V-Front closure.
- Disc front: for a narrow-chested horse, a rug with the Disc Front closure.
- XL: for a deep-shouldered horse with a deep neck and wide build. The XL cut is 20% deeper in the neck and sides.
- Optimo: the same broad build can also go for Optimo rugs, which give the most freedom of movement.
- Wug: for high-withered, narrow horses, the Wug® reduces wither pressure. For very narrow or young horses, Wug® or All-In-One designs help the rug fit and stop it slipping.
