What is Hyda?
Hyda is the next generation of the EQx dial-fit range. It takes the fit system that made EQx such a success and pairs it with a sharper, more modern design. Think a contemporary peaked silhouette, intricately brushed metalwork on the crown and signature EQx branding at the back.
It's lightweight too, so it stays comfortable from the first ride of the day to the last.
Carbon or Sparkly: pick your finish
Hyda comes in two finishes, each in black or navy.
- Carbon: a distinctive carbon-effect top for a sleek, technical look. Choose Black Matte/Black Gloss or Navy Matte/Navy Gloss.
- Sparkly: for riders who like a little shine. Choose Black Gloss/Rose Gold or Navy Gloss/Chrome.
Both finishes come with a standard peak or a wide peak. The wide peak gives you a touch more shade, which is handy when the winter sun sits low.
A precision fit in one turn
The dial at the back does the hard work. Turn it to tighten or loosen the fit until Hyda feels just right. Hairnet one day, bun the next? A quick turn and you're sorted.
The headband is removable and washable, which anyone who has worn a hat through a full season will appreciate. It's compatible with both the EQx Standard and 2.0 replacement headbands, so you can refresh it whenever it needs it. The 2.0 headband offers enhanced comfort and an improved fit. Both styles fit any EQx by Charles Owen helmet.
What is Mips® protection?
Mips adds a low-friction layer inside the helmet. It is designed to reduce the rotational motion that can be transferred to the head in certain angled impacts. It sits neatly inside the hat, so Hyda looks just as sleek with it as without.

- PAS 015:2011
- ASTM F1163 (SEI certified model)
Hat rules vary between disciplines and can change from season to season. Always check the latest requirements from your governing body before you compete.
Finding your size
- Small: 52cm–55cm
- Medium: 55cm–58cm
- Large: 58cm–61cm
