Korsteel Stainless Steel Hollow Mouth Jointed Loose Ring Snaffle Bit
The Hollow Mouth Loose Ring Snaffle from Korsteel has a much thicker mouthpiece that a normal jointed snaffle mouthpiece, which makes it a much milder bit. This bit is good for horses with small tongues and lots of room in their mouth who do not like a large amount of contact on the bit.
The thicker mouthpiece spreads more of the pressure applied by the reins over the bars of the mouth, the tongue and the roof of the mouth than a thinner mouthpiece would, making the communication more subtle and gentle. The loose rings allow the horse to move the bit around in their mouth with their tongue, which can encourage them to relax their jaw and increase salivation.
This bit is dressage legal, and is best suited to horses who do not lean on the bit, as it encourages the horse to take more of a contact.
