Barrier H Ragwort Killer

£63.47

Ideal to use all year round, not affected by frost. Keep animals off treated areas for two weeks or until the plant is completely dead and any remaining debris removed.

Fully licenced (MAPP: 10136) environmentally friendly agricultural herbicide that destroys ragwort in record time.

Please note: This item does not include the spray applicator.

Cost effectiveness: Barrier H will destroy ragwort at any time of year. It is more cost effective to treat when at small rosette stage. The stems of larger plants and flowering plants become thick and woody and so we advise people to cut, bale and burn/remove from site at the height of summer as it will take up too much product. During the winter is a good time to apply Barrier H because Ragwort is easily visible. Traditional weeds and grasses die back and Ragwort seedlings and re-growth from older plants appear. Ensure the whole plant is well wetted but not to the point of run off.

Exclusion From Grazing: After application, we recommend that animals are kept away from treated pasture for 2 weeks, or until the ragwort is completely dead and any debris (with the more mature plants) has been removed. This is not because Barrier H is in any way harmful, but because the dying ragwort as it releases sugars becomes palatable and so possibly dangerous to animals. Remember the root is the last part of the plant to die, so be careful not to remove any dead tops too soon.

Cutting or Pulling: Time spent cutting or pulling may be wasted as it often results in encouraging the spread of Ragwort. Tiny rootlets left behind can lead to the growth of bigger and stronger plants the next year.

Flowering Ragwort: Barrier H can be applied to flowering Ragwort to stop seed setting but we still advise to cut, bale and burn/remove all that plant growth.

Spot Treatment: Barrier H comes in a 5L container with spray attachment and is used as a spot treatment for Ragwort. It is easy to apply holding the container handle in one hand and the spray gun in the other. One single squirt is sufficient to cover a tiny seedling. Users often prefer to use a knapsack sprayer with a longer lance.
